Welcoming a British Shorthair

Choosing a British Shorthair kitten is a special and important decision. At La Bella Vita Cattery, we follow a clear, transparent and responsible process designed to protect our cats’ welfare and help them settle happily into their new families. Getting to know each future owner is essential to finding the best possible match between kitten and family. We match kittens with families based on compatibility, not on who enquires first.

Getting in Touch

You can contact us using the form, by email or via WhatsApp. Please include: your preferences for sex and coat colour, when you hope to welcome a kitten, a little about yourself. This helps us offer useful guidance from the outset.

Completing the Questionnaire

To take the next step, please complete the questionnaire below. This is an essential step because it helps us: learn about your lifestyle, understand your expectations, assess the environment your kitten will live in. This is the first step towards building a relationship of trust.

Reviewing Your Enquiry

We review your completed questionnaire carefully to understand your needs, expectations and home circumstances. We may contact you for further information and, where helpful, arrange a call to get to know you.

Reservation

Once we have confirmed a suitable match between your family and a kitten, a deposit secures the reservation. Your kitten is then officially reserved, and we can guide you through the next steps with confidence.

Growing Up

As your kitten grows, we stay in touch with photographs, development updates and information about its healthcare. This helps you feel involved at every stage until your kitten is ready to come home.

Going Home

Your kitten will go home only once it has completed the necessary vaccinations, veterinary checks and socialisation. At handover, you will receive its ANFI pedigree, health record, all relevant documentation and practical advice to help it settle happily into your home.

Support

Our support continues after your kitten comes home. We remain available to advise you on feeding, everyday care and behaviour, helping you through those first steps together and beyond.
